White-Label Software Development for IT Companies and Agencies from Softomate Solutions

White-Label Software Development for IT Companies and Agencies

Softomate Solutions builds bespoke software that IT companies, consultancies, systems integrators and digital agencies deliver to their own clients. When you win work you cannot staff, we take it on as your white-label subcontractor: a fixed-scope project, or developers who join your team and sprints. You keep the client and the credit. We sign your NDA and a non-solicit agreement, the code sits in your repositories, and the IP in the bespoke code passes to you on payment.

01. What we do

What development work do you take on as a subcontractor?

Bespoke development only: work where the specification is yours or your client's and the software has to be built properly. We do not take on brochure websites or template builds.

Bespoke web applications

Customer portals, internal tools, booking and workflow systems and SaaS products, built in React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python or PHP.

See web applications

APIs and system integration

APIs, data sync and middleware between CRMs, ERPs, accounts packages and your client's own systems.

See integrations

CRM, ERP and AI features

Bespoke CRM builds, ERP integration and AI features such as document processing, assistants and AI agents inside existing products.

See bespoke CRM

Mobile apps and testing

iOS and Android apps in React Native or Flutter, plus test automation and performance testing on software you or others have built.

See mobile apps

Which companies is this for?

IT services companies, managed service providers, systems integrators, consultancies and digital agencies that win more bespoke development than their own team can deliver, or win work that needs skills they do not have in house.

It also suits main contractors bidding for public or private sector work who need a development subcontractor named in the bid. See tenders and bids below. If you are buying software for your own business, the custom software development page is the better place to start.

02. How it works

How does a subcontract engagement start?

1. NDA first

We sign your NDA, or provide ours, before you share client details or specifications. A non-solicit clause covers your client and your staff.

2. Review the specification

We read the brief, flag gaps and risks, and send back our questions. If the work is not a good fit for us, we say so at this stage.

3. Agree the model and the estimate

For a fixed-scope project you get a written estimate with milestones and exclusions. For team extension we agree the roles, start date, hours and notice period.

4. Deliver in your way of working

We work in your repositories, ticketing and communication tools, follow your coding standards and report to your project manager. If you prefer, we run the project ourselves and report to you.

5. Hand over

Code, documentation, environments and credentials are handed over at the end and our access is removed. Support can continue under your brand if you want it.

Fixed-scope project or developers in your team?

Both are available. Choose the one that matches how the work was sold to your client.

Fixed-scope project

We take a defined piece of work, such as a portal, an integration or a module, and deliver it to an agreed specification, timeline and price.

Best when the requirements are clear.

Team extension

Our developers join your team, work in your sprints and take direction from your lead. Also called staff augmentation.

Best when the scope will change, or your team needs extra capacity for a period.

Mixed

Start with team extension during discovery, then move to a fixed scope once the requirements settle.

Best when the client has signed but the detail is still moving.

Either way, you keep the client relationship and the delivery plan.

How does white-label delivery work?

White-label means your client sees your company, not ours. We agree the rules in writing at the start:

  • We work under your brand, email domain or project accounts if you want us to.
  • We never contact your client directly unless you ask us to, and we do not approach your client or your staff for future work.
  • Your name stays on the documentation, status reports and handover pack.
  • Co-branded delivery is also an option, where you introduce us as your specialist development team.

We already deliver work this way for other technology companies. Those engagements are under NDA, so we do not name the companies or publish the details. Your work would be treated the same way.

Who owns the code and the IP?

You do, and you can pass it on to your client under your own contract. The contract sets this out before work starts.

Assigned to you

The bespoke code we write

The intellectual property in the code we write for the engagement passes to you once it is paid for. It sits in your repositories from day one, so nothing is held back.

Licensed, not assigned

Our tools and open source

Our own pre-existing tools and code libraries, and open-source components under their own licences. Both are listed in the handover pack, so your client's due diligence has a clear record.

Can you support tenders and bids?

Yes. If you are bidding for work that includes bespoke development, we can:

  • Review the specification and flag gaps and risks.
  • Help write the technical sections of the response.
  • Estimate the development effort and cost.
  • Be named as your development subcontractor, and deliver the development under your contract if the bid is won.

We only commit to bids where we can deliver the technical scope. If part of the requirement falls outside what we do, we tell you before you submit, not after the award.

How do you handle security and client data?

  • We work inside your accounts and environments wherever possible.
  • Access is limited to what each person needs, and we remove ours when the engagement ends.
  • Where we handle personal data for your client, we act as a sub-processor under UK GDPR, on the data processing terms agreed with you.
  • Your client's own security requirements are agreed at the start, and we tell you before work begins if there is one we cannot meet.

Which technologies do you work with?

The stacks we build in most often:

Front end
ReactTypeScriptVue
Back end
Node.jsPython with DjangoPHP with Laravel
Data
PostgreSQLMySQLMongoDB
Cloud and delivery
AWSAzureDocker
Mobile
React NativeFlutter
Business systems
Microsoft 365XeroSageQuickBooksHubSpotSalesforceZohoDynamics 365NetSuiteBusiness CentralOdoo

If your project uses a stack that is not listed, ask. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

03. Costs and scope

How is subcontract work priced?

Fixed-scope project

A written price with milestones and exclusions, once we have reviewed the specification.

Priced per project

Team extension

Priced per developer, by the day or by the month, with an agreed notice period.

Day or monthly rate

Rates are agreed with you directly and never shown to your client, so you set your own price. The first call is free.

04. FAQs

What do IT companies ask before subcontracting?

What is white-label software development?

White-label software development is when a development company builds software that another company delivers to its own client under its own brand. The client deals only with the main contractor. Softomate works this way for UK IT companies and agencies, under NDA, with the code in the main contractor's repositories and the IP in the bespoke code passing to them on payment.

What is the difference between subcontracting and staff augmentation?

Subcontracting usually means handing over a defined piece of work, delivered to a specification and a price. Staff augmentation, or team extension, means adding developers to your own team, working in your sprints under your lead. Softomate offers both, and some engagements move from one to the other as the scope settles.

Will you contact our client or try to win the work directly?

No. We sign a non-solicit agreement covering your client and your staff, and we only speak to your client if you ask us to. The client relationship stays yours.

Who owns the code we deliver to our client?

The IP in the bespoke code passes to you on payment, so you can pass it on to your client under your own contract. Our pre-existing tools and any open-source components are licensed rather than assigned, and both are listed in the handover pack.

Can you sign our NDA before we share the specification?

Yes. We sign your NDA, or provide ours, before any client details or documents are shared.

What work do you not take on?

We do not take on brochure websites, template builds or work we cannot deliver to a professional standard. If part of a specification falls outside our skills, we tell you before you commit to your client.

Can you be named in a tender as the development subcontractor?

Yes. We can review the specification, help write the technical response and the estimate, and be named as your development subcontractor. If the bid is won, we deliver the development under your contract.

Can you support the software after launch?

Yes. Support and maintenance can continue under your brand with agreed response times, or we hand everything over to your team or your client's team with full documentation.

Where should you go next?

These pages cover the connected decisions.

Have a project or a bid you need delivered?

Send us the specification and we will review it under NDA, then tell you plainly whether we are the right fit.
